Bramley Greener Homes

Helping Bramley residents save energy, carbon and money.

Local volunteer Energy Champions, trained and co-ordinated by Loddon Community Energy, are now providing free home energy surveys in Bramley, Bramley Green and Sherfield-on-Loddon.

Our volunteer Energy Champions will help you to:

  • Lower energy bills
  • More comfortable home
  • Reduce your carbon impact

Our volunteer Energy Champions come from the local community and are trained to identify how your home could be made more energy efficient.

The surveys will identify how homes can be improved so that they lose less heat – our Energy Champions will look at how you could improve your:

  • Insulation – loft, walls, floor etc
  • Windows and doors
  • Draught proofing
  • Heating controls
  • Ventilation

Energy Efficiency Small Grants

You can apply to us for up to £50 towards the cost of installing energy efficiency measures, if your home is in council tax band A, B, C or D.

To be eligible for the grant, you need to have had a home energy survey carried out by one of our volunteer Energy Champions.

We will provide a grant of up to £50 towards the cost of any energy efficiency measures installed in your home, after our survey.

This includes draughtproofing, insulation, radiator reflector panels, LED lights, heating controls and any other measures that reduce your energy use.

To apply for a grant, please contact us with details of the measures you plan to install.  Once approved, the grant will be paid to you after you have paid for the installation or materials – we will just need a copy of the receipt or invoice and a photo of the work that has been carried out.

Bramley Greener Homes is completely non-commercial – we will not try to sell you anything.  This is a community project, run by and for local people, to help residents save energy, carbon and money.

Bramley Greener Homes is funded by the National Grid – their community grant covers the cost of volunteer training and a part-time project manager.

We are looking for more local volunteer Energy Champions – if you’d like to do something practical about the climate crisis, get in touch.  You don’t need any experience, just an interest in home energy.  We will train and support you.  To find out more, contact us at info@loddoncommunityenergy.org.uk (please include a contact telephone number).
